The Johnstown Police Department is pleased to announce the successful collection of 48.5 pounds of unwanted prescription drugs through our drug take back bin program. This initiative, designed to promote public safety and prevent drug abuse, has resulted in a substantial amount of potentially harmful substances being removed from our community.
The drug take back bin, located in the front vestibule of the Johnstown Police Department (401 Washington Street) , provides a safe and convenient way for residents to dispose of expired, unused, or unwanted prescription drugs. By properly disposing of these medications, we can help prevent drug abuse, overdose, and environmental contamination.
We would like to extend our gratitude to the community for their participation in this program. Your efforts have contributed significantly to the success of this initiative, and we encourage you to continue utilizing the drug take back bin to dispose of any unwanted prescription drugs.
The drug take-back bin is available 24/7 as well as sharps collection.
We will also be taking part in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on April 25, 2026 with multiple locations to be released soon !
