As we prepare for the Steam Engine “Big Boy” traveling through the City of Johnstown on Saturday July 11, between 12:30 and 12:45 PM, the Johnstown Police Department wants to make the public aware of road closures and stipulations on stopping/parking on certain roadways in the City of Johnstown.
Street Closures:
· Washington Street between Roosevelt Blvd and Johns Street will be closed to all traffic beginning at 11:00AM until the time of Big Boy’s passing across the historic Stone Bridge.
Restricted Parking:
· There will no parking permitted on the Dellwood Street Bridge.
· There will be no parking on the Brownstown Bridge.
· There will be no parking and/or stopping in traffic on any roadway to include any portion of Roosevelt Blvd.
· Furthermore, the City of Johnstown gives no permission to park in any privately owned parking lot/area. You may be subject to tow by that property owner.
Remember to obey all traffic laws and remember to comply with the regulations of railroad property. Railroad property is off limits. Please stay away from all railroad tracks at a distance of 25’.
