The Bucks County DUI Task Force, led by Lieutenant Glen Gottenberg of the Warrington Township Police Department, conducted a DUI checkpoint on Easton Road in front of Eureka Stone Quarry in Warrington Township. On Saturday evening, the checkpoint operated in both the northbound and southbound lanes from 10:00 PM until 3:00 AM.
The enforcement detail consisted of 35 officers from six different law enforcement agencies. As a result of the checkpoint, officers made three DUI arrests, two narcotics-related arrests, and identified five unsafe drivers.
In total, ten motorists were prevented from driving away from the checkpoint due to impairment or other violations.
Shortly after the checkpoint concluded, Warrington Township Police officers arrested two additional motorists on the Route 202 Parkway for suspicion of DUI.
While enforcement efforts like this help keep our roadways safe, these numbers are concerning. Our goal is always zero impaired drivers on our roads.
So far in 2026, Warrington Township Police have arrested 22 impaired drivers in just the first two and a half months of the year, which is already nearly half of last year’s annual total.
We urge everyone to make responsible decisions. Do not drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs. There are many safe alternatives available, including designated drivers, ride-share services, and taxis.
Please help keep our community safe.
