TWO CARTS FULL OF GOODS, BUT THE RECEIPT WASN'T WORTH THE PAPER IT WAS PRINTED ON
On October 29, 2026, Warrington Police responded to Walmart for the report of a retail theft.
Loss prevention reported that a male and female each loaded a shopping cart with merchandise before proceeding to the self-checkout area. The two presented a receipt from another store in an attempt to pass off the merchandise as purchased. Loss prevention stopped the pair, at which time they abandoned the shopping carts and fled in their vehicle.
Officers located the vehicle a short time later and conducted a traffic stop. The operator was identified as 41-year-old Lakaya Dawson, and the passenger was identified as 52-year-old Reyshe John Sullivan, both from Philadelphia.
When questioned about their whereabouts, Dawson stated they were coming from the store. Sullivan then acknowledged that loss prevention had stopped them and taken the merchandise back.
The investigation revealed that Dawson attempted to exit the store with $294.53 worth of merchandise and Sullivan with $873.95.
Both individuals were placed under arrest and transported to the police station, where they were processed and subsequently released.
Criminal charges, and any discussion thereof, are merely allegations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
