Checkout the Attitude: Police Investigate Wegmans Disturbance

On October 9, 2026, Warrington Police responded to Wegmans for a reported disturbance.

The victim told officers he was shopping while talking on his phone when an unknown male approached him, got in his face, and began yelling. The male held his fist near the victim’s face and threatened to kill him.

Officers located 27-year-old Brandon Hellwarth of Doylestown loading groceries into his vehicle. Hellwarth denied getting into a verbal argument and said he was confused about why police were there. However, he acknowledged yelling at someone because he believed the person was laughing at him.

Officers detected an odor of alcoholic beverages on Hellwarth. A portable breath test registered a high level of blood alcohol concentration.

Hellwarth contacted a family member to pick him up.

Criminal charges, and any discussion thereof, are merely allegations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
