The Freightliner in the Shadows
On January 18, 2026, at approximately 12:56 a.m., Warrington Police responded to Sparta following a report of a suspicious male wandering the property.
Officers located 41-year-old Vitalii Grigorev of Feasterville walking through the rear parking lot and appeared highly intoxicated. Police had already encountered Grigorev earlier that evening during an unrelated incident, at which time he told officers he planned to take a bus into Philadelphia for the night. That story quickly unraveled. Grigorev later admitted he never went to Philadelphia, instead he spent time at Swig Night Club.
Grigorev requested that police contact a translator, which they did, yet he continued to communicate with officers in English. He was offered a courtesy ride but declined.
While officers spoke with Grigorev, other officers noticed a Freightliner tractor parked partially on the lawn nearby. The vehicle’s engine was still warm and displayed fresh damage, indicating recent operation. As officers began investigating the truck, Grigorev changed his mind and agreed to accept a ride. When asked directly if he had been driving the Freightliner, Grigorev denied operating the vehicle.
Surveillance footage from the area told a different story. Video clearly showed Grigorev driving the Freightliner prior to police arrival. When confronted, Grigorev was asked to perform field sobriety tests, but stated he could not participate because he was intoxicated.
Grigorev was taken into custody. A search incident to arrest revealed the keys to the Freightliner in his pocket.
He was transported to the station where he was processed and transported to a local hotel.
