The purpose or mission of the Warminster Police department is to provide our community
and its visitors, with the highest quality of law enforcement services. Our vision is to
adhere to the highest law enforcement principals and ethics, for the betterment of the
community we serve and ourselves. We focus our mission and vision through our values.
We strive to be;
With our mission, vision and values stated, we look to eradicate any bias that may occur and assure transparency, so our community can be comforted with the authority they entrust us with.
To further this trust we have taken steps to make our agency accredited by the states chiefs association (https://pcpa.memberclicks.net/accreditation). Pennsylvania Chief of Police Accreditation requires departments to develop policies to prevent and educate officers, in order to ensure officers do not engage in activities that are discriminatory or indicative of the practice of bias based policing. Our accreditation process is reviewed constantly, and we are currently going through our 5th re-accreditation by the PA Chiefs Association, to ensure we are compliant with current best practices. The Warminster police are one of only 120 police agencies in Pennsylvania, that undergo this review.
At the suggestion of a community member, we agree, that in order help with transparency our accredited policies be presented to our community, to educate our community on the procedures taken to discourage bias policing and what occurs once a complaint is received. Attached are Bias Based Policing and Internal Affairs policies. We look to the future so we can work with the community, so we can promote confidence and tranquility.
Respectfully,
Chief Jim Donnelly, Police Officers, and Staff of the Warminster Police department
