Officers from our Department attended the 9/11 Memeorial Ceremony. This event is organized by Councilman David Pearl and the Tullytown Fire Company Station 33. This year marks the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks in New York City. A horrible day for our country and one that will never be forgotten. This ceremony honored those first responders who gave their life to save others on that day and those who lost their lives from the effects of that day. We thank those who paid the ultimate sacrifice so others could live. David Pearl who hosted the event did an amazing job showing tribute to those brave men and women. On September 11, 2001, 343 firefighters, 71 law enforcement officers, 55 military personnel, and 8 paramedics died in the attacks, totaling 477 first responders on that day. However, this number only reflects those killed immediately, as countless others have died in the subsequent years from illnesses caused by exposure to the World Trade Center's toxic dust and debris.

Chief Aldsworth recited the Police Officers Prayer for our department along with many other speakers.

The Police Department would also like to recognize and thank one of our local residents George Fox who provided hot dogs and beverages free of charge for all those in attendance.
