Definitions

Reportable Accident
An accident involving injury to or death of any person and/or damage to any vehicle to the extent that the vehicle cannot be driven under its own power in its customary manner without further damage or hazard to the vehicle, other traffic elements, or the roadway, and therefore requires towing.

Non-Reportable Accident
A crash involving no injury or death of any person and no towing due to vehicle damage at the time of the crash. A crash occurring on private property, or resulting from deliberate intent or cataclysm, is also considered non-reportable.

Unfounded
A reported crime that, following an investigation by law enforcement authorities, is determined to be false or baseless, meaning the crime did not occur or was never attempted.

Open Investigation
A case that remains under active investigation.
