Hiring - Police Secretary
The Plumstead Township Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Police Secretary. The non-uniformed position will be directly responsible to the Chief of Police and assist in the daily administration of the department. Duties may include handling walk-in complaints, answering phone calls, filing of documents and various other office duties. Additional responsibilities include data entry and various assignments to support the function of the police department.
Successful applicants should possess strong communication and organizational skills as well as have working knowledge of up to date computer software. Experience with common Microsoft applications including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access and Publisher is needed. Preferred candidates should have prior police administrative experience and/or experience in the Criminal Justice, Courts or Corrections field. High school or equivalent with administrative training and/or work experience is preferred. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Successful candidates must pass a post-offer pre-employment background check and candidates may be required to acquire additional certifications after employment.
