INCIDENT BLOTTER 1/23-1/29/2023
1/23/23
At 11:19am, Officers investigated a possible theft in the area of Christopher Day Road. The complainant called stating that she received a package and when she went to retrieve the item the package was open, and the item was missing. The complainant stated that the item was valued at $400. No further leads at this time to identify the actor.
At 1:05pm, Officers responded to the area of Rinker Circle for an unwanted person that entered a residence. When officers arrived on scene, they checked the area and were unable to locate the individual. After reviewing the ring camera, the actor identifies himself as an employee for a repair business, the complainant opened the door and the suspect walks in casually. Employee entered the incorrect address and Officers cleared without incident.
1/24/23
At 11:58am, Officers responded to a call for a harassment complaint in the area Easton Rd. The complainant stated that a tenant of her rental property will drive by her residence rev their engine and beep their horn on multiple occasions. Officers identified the driver and made contact, he was advised to discontinue these actions or charges would be filed.
1/28/23
At 8:16am, Officers responded to a call for a fraudulent transaction that previously occurred. The complainant related on 1-26-23 while using his computer, his screen displayed an alert that his computer was hacked and provided a phone number to the FBI. He called the number provided and spoke to a male that directed him to call a number for Penn Community Bank. They directed him to a branch that he does not use normally. He withdrew $10,000 and sent it to a Bitcoin Account. The victim was provided a Victim rights packet and is working with the department’s Victim Services Unit. Incident under investigation.
At 3:57pm, Officers investigated a domestic dispute in the area of Point Pleasant Pike. Officers spoke to the individuals separately and each party was advised of options available to them. Officers were able to mediate the situation and no further action was taken.
1/29/23
At 1:31pm, officers responded to European Wax Center on Swamp Rd for a harassment complaint. The complainant received multiple attempts of communication by a known unwanted subject. The unwanted subject’s identity was confirmed and was advised to cease contact. The complainant was provided a Victims right packet, incident under investigation.
