In honor of National Consumer Protection Week, hosted by the Federal Trade Commission, the Perkasie Borough Police Department will be providing information, resources, and common fraud trends to residents throughout the week. As the levels of fraud and identity theft continue to rise across the country, it is important to take a second to highlight rising trends while also providing clear and direct ways to address fraud when it occurs to you or a loved one. The FTC offers many free resources to community members alongside a reporting system for incidents of fraud and identity theft. Throughout the week the police department will also be offering free information packets and printed resources in the lobby of our station at 311 S 9th Street during regular business hours (8:30-4:30). To learn more about common fraud trends, financial safety, and other important information consider attending one of the online webinars provided for free and outlined below! You can also visit https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/ to report fraud and discover additional resources to assist in consumer protection.
