On September 2, 2025, Perkasie Borough officials, including Mayor Jeff Hollenbach, Council President James Ryder, and Chief Robert  A. Schurr, presented Life Saving Commendations to several members of the Perkasie Borough Police Department, Perkasie Fire Company, and Grandview/St. Luke's EMS during the monthly Perkasie Borough Council meeting. The awards recognized the courageous actions and swift decision-making of Perkasie Police Officers Mark Compas and Ryan Richardson, who responded to a life-threatening cardiac arrest call on May 21, 2025, in Perkasie Borough. The officers received crucial support from Grandview EMT Sandy Swartley, Paramedic Hank Lawrence, as well as Perkasie Fire Company personnel, including Chief Jason Trotter, Battalion Chief Christopher Bogen, Lieutenant Christopher Grossbach, and Firefighter Zach Boveri. The patient's successful recovery from the cardiac emergency was a direct result of their prompt and skilled assistance. The community is grateful for their selfless dedication and commitment to public service.
