Every year, more than 45 million illegal passes of school buses occur nationwide, according to the National Association of State Directors of Pupil Transportation Services (NASDPTS). In an effort to address this serious safety concern for children, Pennsylvania legislators approved the use of Automated School Bus Side Stop Signal Arm Enforcement Program's. These programs, including the one utilized on 106 buses belonging to Pennridge School District, allow for remote enforcement of violations and an increased enforcement that allows for safer streets for students. The Perkasie Borough Police Department is proud to be a partner in this program which saves lives. To learn more about our local enforcement program, check out Bus Patrol.
