On August 4, 2025, Perkasie Borough Police received a report of an ATV  driving recklessly in Perkasie Square on Constitution Avenue. A Perkasie PD Officer located the ATV near the pavilion in Lenape Park, close to the E. Spruce St. entrance. The male operator, later identified as Cody Mitchell, was questioned by police and initially provided false identification to the officer. While being questioned, Mitchell attempted to flee from the officer and resisted arrest. During the encounter, Mitchell grabbed the officer's firearm and attempted to disarm the officer. The officer utilized his training and was able to control Mitchell until a backup officer arrived and assisted in handcuffing Mitchell. Mitchell was arraigned before Magisterial District Justice Armitage, who set his bail at $700,000.00 (10%). Mitchell was unable to post bail and was remanded to the custody of Bucks County Prison.
