Falls Township Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle accident which occurred yesterday afternoon, 3:00 PM, in front of Giant Food Store, located in the Fairless Hills Shopping Center.  

The preliminary investigation determined that a driver, traveling at a very low speed, struck shopping carts being pushed by two customers as they walked from the store. The collision with the carts caused them to fall to the ground. One of the customers was the 73 year old victim, a Levittown, Falls Township resident, who suffered a head injury and was transported to Saint Mary Medical Center, Langhorne, where she passed away shortly after 9:30 PM. 

The driver of the involved vehicle remained on scene, is cooperating with Police, and their is no indication drugs or alcohol were a factor.  

We are withholding her identification pending notification of next of kin.
