Today the Central Bucks Regional Police Department, along with the Pennsylvania State Police and Doylestown Township Police, coordinated a speed enforcement detail to help bring awareness to dangerous driving and reduce high speeds along Route 611 and 202 bypasses. This enforcement was organized because of a recent car stop by a CBRPD officer for a vehicle traveling 114 mph in a 55-mph zone on Route 611 northbound.

During today’s traffic enforcement, 58 citations were issued for speeds ranging between 75 and 92 mph. Several motorists were cited after failing to move over to another lane under Pennsylvania Move Over Law. This law was enacted in 2020 to protect emergency personnel when conducting official business on the shoulder of highways.

Remember to follow the posted speed limit, move over for emergency vehicles, adjust your speed for traffic and road conditions, stay focused on driving and avoid distractions. Always wear your seatbelt, keep enough space between vehicles, and allow extra time to reach your destination safely!
