POLICE INFORMATION RELEASE
On 03/16/2021, at 9:06 pm, the Bedminster Township Police Department received information about a possible threat of violence against the Upper Bucks County Technical School (UBCTS). The Upper Bucks County Technical School is located at 3115 Ridge Road in Bedminster Township, Bucks County, PA. UBCTS staff related that they received a tip from the PA Attorney General’s Safe 2 Say Program concerning an overheard threat of violence towards the school, possibly by students who attend the school.
Safe 2 Say Something is a youth violence prevention program run by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General. The program teaches youth and adults how to recognize warning signs and signals, especially within social media, from individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others and to “say something” BEFORE it is too late.
Out of an abundance of caution, the Bedminster Township Police and UBCTS decided for school to be held virtually on March 17th, 2021, while the tip’s validity can be corroborated and further investigation can be completed.
The Bedminster Township Police Department works closely with the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office and the Bucks County Detectives to follow up on this information. We are interested in hearing from anyone who may have information concerning this tip. Information can be submitted online by visiting our Crimewatch Portal at https://crimewatch.net/us/pa/bucks/bedminster-twp-pd and selecting the submit online report tab. We can also be reached through our dispatcher at the Bucks County 911 Center at 215-328-8515.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to the student population. Our community’s safety, which includes the students and the Upper Bucks County Technical School staff, is a top priority of the Police Department. We take any threats against the safety of our schools seriously.
