July 2023 BTPD Activity Report
Bedminster PD recorded 561 incident reports for July 2023.
Crime Items of Interest:
On 07/07/23, a resident was arrested at the Weis for retail theft.
On 07/11/23, a resident reported that 400K was stolen from his Home Equity Line of Credit Account using fraudulent checks.
On 07/13/23, a resident couple reported falling victim to a phone/internet scam to the amount of 7K in which they bought gift cards and gave the numbers to the scammers when they were convinced their computer was hacked.
On 07/23/23, a resident reported being a victim of a 5K contractor fraud.
On 07/23/23, a 44-year-old male was successfully taken into custody using the BolaWrap remote restraint device following a call for help from his family reporting that he was in a mental health crisis. He was committed to a mental health facility and has also been charged with making threats and possessing metal knuckles.
Traffic Items of Interest:
We handled (4) reportable (towing and/or injury) traffic accidents. There were no critical injuries reported.
On 07/11/2023, at 03:53 pm, 2 vehicles crashed at the intersection of 611 and Quarry Rd.
On 07/22/2023, at 1:56 pm, 2 vehicles crashed on 611 at the entrance to the Dairy Queen.
On 07/27/2023, at 3:10 pm, 2 vehicles crashed on 611 at the entrance to the Tractor Supply.
On 07/28/2023, at 08:16 am, 2 vehicles crashed at the intersection of Keller’s Church Rd. and Deep Run Rd.
DUI:
Five DUI arrests were made in July, including of a male operating a golf cart on 413 on July 2nd.
Warrants:
Two subjects were arrested on warrants following traffic stops, including a robbery warrant out of Philadelphia and a burglary warrant from State Parole.
Traffic Enforcement:
137 traffic enforcement details were conducted.
22 traffic citations were issued.
41 traffic warnings were given
Community Relations
Drafted and Published a Public Service Announcement in Penny Power (gift card scams)
Organized summer reading at ELD summer camp
Visited the home and enrolled an elderly couple in the How RU Program
Contacted 41 victims and offered resources.
Collected 13 Victim Impact Statements
Referred 2 individuals to the county co-responder.
