A snow emergency has been declared for the Borough of West Reading, effective 4:00 PM on Sunday, February 22nd. As a result, all vehicles parked on designated snow emergency routes must be moved to allow for safe and efficient snow removal.
A map of the snow emergency routes can be found in the attached document. It is essential that vehicles are removed from these routes to ensure the safety of all residents and to facilitate the snow removal process.
Officers will be out clearing the snow emergency routes and will attempt to notify the owners of vehicles to move them prior to issuing parking citations and having the vehicles towed. To avoid any inconvenience, please move your vehicle from the designated snow emergency routes as soon as possible.
In an effort to accommodate residents who need to move their vehicles, Tower Health has graciously offered to open the parking garage at the Doctors Office Building on S 7th Avenue. This will provide a convenient and safe location to park your vehicle until the snow emergency has been lifted.
The snow emergency will remain in effect until the roads have been sufficiently cleared to allow safe travel. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in this matter, and we will do our best to keep you updated on the status of the snow removal efforts.
Stay safe, and please drive carefully!
