We are accepting applications for a full-time law enforcement position.  The Township of Spring Police Department is an accredited agency in a progressive suburban community.  Minimum base starting salary for 2026 is $99,044 when certified.  Applicants with special skills or law enforcement experience may be eligible for bonus points and/or salary incentives (see below attachment).  After submitting a completed application, you will participate in the entry level physical agility and written test on Saturday, March 14th, 2026 at Wilson High School.  Please call us at (610) 678-3431 with any questions.  If you are interested in a law enforcement career, this is a great opportunity!

Applicants must:

• Be 21 years of age at the time of the test.
• Be a U.S. citizen in good standing.
• Be able to read, write and speak the English language.
• Be a high school graduate or possess a GED.
• Possess a valid PA driver’s license at time of employment.
• Be in good physical condition and be able to meet MPOETC standards for police officers.
• Be able to perform essential job functions and complete a competitive process consisting of written exam, oral interview, physical agility test, and physical and psychological exams.
• Be able to pass a comprehensive background investigation including the provisions of PA Act 57.

1. Application forms are available for in-person pick up at the Township of Spring Police Department located at 2800 Shillington Rd. Reading, PA 19608 or via download from the attachment below. The application is 22 pages in total, including waivers.  Applications will not be accepted unless fully completed, including signature and notarization.
2. Completed applications must be sealed, addressed and returned to the Township of Spring Police Department, marked “Application for Police Officer”, at 2800 Shillington Road, Reading, PA 19608
3. Applications must be received before noon, Friday, March 6th, or post marked no later than March 6^th, 2026.
