On June 20, 2024, Spring Township Police were contacted by Wilson High School Administration regarding a break in, vandalism, and theft that occurred on Sunday, June 16, 2024. Damage included: a hallway exit sign had been knocked down/damaged, screens were removed from a bathroom and classrooms, balls were thrown around all over a classroom, two broken trophies that appeared to have been smashed on the floor, butcher block table top/desks had been spray painted with blue paint, various other items had been spray painted, a smashed candy jar with candy all around, a mechanical cabinet door with graffiti on it, a computer monitor had been smashed with a baseball bat, a TV knocked over, along with other items destroyed/damaged. The total value to replace/repair/clean from Wilson School District was $1,603.
It was also discovered that two gaming chairs valued at $140 each (totaling $280) were missing. After an investigation, Zachary Weitzel was arrested for Burglary, Criminal Trespass, and Theft by Unlawful Taking.
