On January 1, 2026, Spring Township Police were dispatched to Giant for a report of counterfeit United States currency being passed at the business.  It was reported that a male completed two separate transactions in the Beer Garden area of the store utilizing counterfeit one hundred-dollar bills. During the first transaction, the suspect purchased a six-pack of Modelo beer valued at $12.99 and received approximately $86.23 in legitimate United States currency as change. During the second transaction, the suspect purchased a Troegs sample pack valued at $12.49 and received approximately $87.51 in legitimate United States Currency as change.  After an investigation, Kenneth IRICK Jr. was charged with Forgery-Unauthorized Act in Writing.
