On June 9, 2026, Spring Township Police were dispatched to Target for a retail theft that had just occurred. It was reported that Luna CADAVID approached the self-checkout with a cart full of items. As she scanned items, she engaged in a skip scan scheme in which she would intentionally move items passed the scanner while not presenting the UPC barcode. CADAVID placed the $191.83 worth of merchandise with her scanned items. CADAVID paid for the items correctly scanned and attempted to proceed towards the exit of the store until stopped by Loss Prevention. Ultimately, Luna CADAVID was charged with Retail Theft and Receiving Stolen Property.
