SHPD Spring Weekend Update
This past weekend, officers from the South Heidelberg Police Department participated in two community events. School Resource Officer Mitchell Cole attended South Heidelberg Township’s annual Easter Egg Hunt, which was held Saturday afternoon at South Mountain Park. As shown in the photos, the event was very well attended and enjoyed by families throughout the community. SHPD is proud to support local Parks and Recreation events and appreciates the opportunity to engage with residents.

Officer Bryan Baxter and Officer Josh Faust participated in the 20th Annual Battle of the Badges ice hockey game, held at Reading’s Santander Arena. Established in 2007, the scholarship fund supports graduating high school seniors whose parents are current, retired, or fallen Reading police officers or firefighters.
The annual event features an ice hockey matchup between the Reading Police and Fire Departments and the Berks County Law Enforcement team. This year, the Reading Police and Fire Departments secured a 2–1 victory. Officer Josh Faust, a full-time member of the Reading Police Department, scored the game’s opening goal.
