Police Administrative Assistant
Location: Birdsboro, PA
Department: Robeson Township Police Department
Reports To: Police Chief/Administrative Supervisor
Full Time Position 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday
Salary: $62,400 a year – Competitive Benefits Package
Position Summary: The Police Administrative Officer is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to the Police Department. This role involves coordinating various administrative functions, managing departmental records, and facilitating communication between law enforcement personnel and the community. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administrative Support:
- Assist in the daily operations of the Police Department.
- Prepare and maintain departmental reports, documents, and correspondence.
- Organize and schedule meetings, appointments, and training sessions.
- Record Management:
- Oversee the management of police records and files, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Process public records requests in accordance with legal guidelines.
- Budget and Finance:
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the department’s budget.
- Process invoices, purchase orders, and other financial documentation.
- Communication and Coordination:
- Serve as a point of contact for internal and external inquiries.
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies as needed.
- Community Engagement:
- Help coordinate community outreach programs and events.
- Assist in disseminating information to the public through various channels.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration, Criminal Justice, or a related field preferred, but not required.
- Previous experience in a law enforcement or public sector administrative role is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, excel and other relevant software.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Working Conditions:
- May require occasional overtime and attendance at community events.
- Office environment with potential exposure to sensitive information.
