PRESS RELEASE

On Saturday January 14, 2023, at approximately 2:02 PM, members of the Robeson Township Police Department were dispatched to a residence on Morgantown Road, south of Westley Road for the report of a domestic disturbance. Responding officers were advised that a male and female were having a domestic disturbance and the involved male had locked himself in a vehicle, armed with a handgun. Responding officers requested additional officers to the scene to assist.

Officers were advised that the female involved had taken shelter in her residence for her protection. A team of officers were able to safely evacuate the female as other officers made attempts to contact the involved male.

After several attempts to contact the male, officers approached the vehicle with ballistic shields and discovered that the involved male had taken his own life.

An investigation to this incident is ongoing.
