On April 2, 2026, the Eastern Regional Mon Valley Police Department executed a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Rankin Boulevard in the Borough of Rankin. The warrant was issued as part of an investigation into narcotics-related violations.

During the search, officers seized a quantity of marijuana and recovered a handgun that was later determined to be stolen. As a result of the investigation, a 28-year-old male resident of Rankin will be charged with multiple offenses.
