On February 24, 2026, Eastern Regional Mon Valley Police Department officers were dispatched to a residence on Corey Avenue in Braddock to investigate a reported family dispute. The incident escalated when one sibling allegedly threatened another with a firearm, prompting a thorough investigation. As a result, a juvenile was taken into custody after being found in possession of two firearms, one of which was reported stolen. The Eastern Regional Mon Valley Police Department is not only concerned about the family dispute but also the alarming fact that a minor had access to firearms. To address this issue, the department is working closely with local violence prevention organizations to identify alternative solutions and support systems for our youth, aiming to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
