The South Hills DUI Task Force in conjunction with the Brentwood Borough Police Department will be conducting a DUI Sobriety Checkpoint in the Borough of Brentwood this weekend between the dates of August 23, 2024 and August 25, 2024.
As we approach the Labor Day Holiday, we want to remind drivers, if they are going to drink, plan ahead and have a sober driver but if you decide to drive while under the influence, we will be looking for you.
The South Hills DUI Task Force is comprised of Officers from the Police Departments of Baldwin Borough, Brentwood, Homestead, West Homestead, Munhall, Elizabeth Township, Jefferson Hills, Pleasant Hills, South Park, West Mifflin, Whitehall, Swissvale, Clairton, Duquesne, Glassport and McKeesport.
At the conclusion of the checkpoint, the below statistics were obtained:
- 536 vehicles passed through the checkpoint
- 21 drivers were evaluated for suspicion of DUI
- 6 drivers were charged with DUI
- 21 traffic warnings were issued
- 9 citations were issued
