• Speeding-related crashes accounted for 29% of total traffic fatalities in 2024.
• 39% of male drivers and 20% of female drivers in the 15- to 20-year-old age group involved in fatal traffic crashes in 2024 were speeding — the highest among the age groups.
• 37% of all motorcycle riders involved in fatal crashes in 2024 were speeding.
• Motorcycle riders 15 to 20 years old involved in fatal crashes had the highest speeding involvement at 56%.
• In 2024, 87% of all speeding-related traffic fatalities on American roads occurred on non-interstate roadways.
