On April 5, 2025, at approximately 0102 hours, the Corning Police Department responded to a report of an assault in Burmese Lane near the Transportation Center. The suspect had left the scene prior to Officer's arrival. Officer's later identified the suspect as 40 year old, Edward B. Taylor. On April 7, 2025, Taylor was arrested and charged with Assault in the 3rd degree and Disorderly Conduct for the incident on Burmese Lane. While in custody Mr. Taylor was also charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd Degree. Mr. Taylor was sent to the Steuben County Jail to await arraignment.
