On August 22nd, 2026, Corning Police Officers responded to a report of an assault at a local apartment complex. Following officers' investigation, 55 year-old Robert C. Morey, of Corning, was taken into custody. Mr. Morey was charged with Unlawful Imprisonment 1st Degree (felony), Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree and Menacing 2nd Degree. Mr. Morey was processed on the arrest at the Corning Police Dept. and subsequently transported to the Steuben County Jail to await arraignment.
