On September 21st, 2026, Corning Police Officers responded to a residence on East First St. for the report of a domestic incident. As a result of the investigation 31 year-old Jaleel M. Durden Sr. of Corning was taken into custody. Mr. Durden was charged with Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, Assault 3rd Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Mr. Durden was processed on the arrest at the Corning Police Dept. and subsequently transported to the Steuben County Jail to await CAP arraignment.
