Vestal 6th grader wins Art Contest!
Congratulations to Gabby Laubisch who won first place in the Broome County Family Violence Prevention Council’s third annual Art Contest. The Art Contest is held for Child Abuse Prevention Month which is observed every year during April.
Laubisch worked on the project during her school's Art Club meetings, even going in during her study halls to finish it up.
The theme of this year’s Art Contest was “Be the Light”. Laubisch created a painting of a night sky with a large moon and the words “In the darkness of the night, be a light” written in cursive.
She says she hopes people see her art and remember to never stop being who they are.
The Vestal Police are an active member of Broome County's Family Violence Prevention Council and we are very proud join with the Vestal Middle School in the celebration of Gabby and her winning painting.
Gabby and her art will be on display during the month of April on a Rt. 81 billboard near Exit 7.
Congratulations Gabby!!!
