To all participants of the Water Assassin game,
We want to remind you to be cautious of your surroundings and show respect towards others while engaging in this activity.
As law enforcement officials, our top priority is public safety. Therefore, we urge all participants to follow these guidelines:
1. Respect private property: Do not enter private property without permission and avoid playing the game in areas where it may disturb or pose a safety risk.
2. Avoid public disturbances: Refrain from playing the game in public places where it may disrupt the peace or cause alarm to others.
3. Use discretion: Ensure that the game is conducted in a manner that does not lead to misunderstandings or conflicts with bystanders or law enforcement.
4. Follow traffic laws: Do not play the game near roads or other areas where it may interfere with traffic flow or endanger participants and bystanders.
5. Respect law enforcement authority: If law enforcement officers approach you while playing the game, comply with their instructions and cooperate fully to avoid any escalation of the situation.
6. Exercise caution: Be mindful of potential hazards such as slippery surfaces, obstacles, or other dangers that may be present in the playing area.
7. Be considerate of others: Respect the wishes of individuals who do not want to participate in the game and avoid targeting them or causing them any discomfort.
We remind students that they need to be aware that realistic-looking fake guns like those in this picture should not be used. Our officers respond to 911 calls without knowing whether this is just students having fun or an actual crime about to be committed. We strongly encourage parents to also talk with their kids about this. Depending on the seriousness of the situation, criminal charges may be warranted.
Remember, the Water Assassin game can be a fun activity, but it is essential to prioritize safety and respect for others. By following these guidelines, we can ensure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience.
Thank you for your cooperation,
Sincerely,
The Dover Police Department
