Update: Arrests Made in December 26, 2024, Shooting Incident
Thomasville, NC – The Thomasville Police Department has made significant progress in the investigation of the December 26, 2024, shooting incident that occurred in the area of Sullivan and Harris Streets. Detectives have arrested two juveniles and issued charges against an additional suspect.
On December 26, 2024, at approximately 7:59 p.m., officers responded to reports of shots fired, which resulted in three occupied residences being struck—one in the 500 block of Sullivan Street and two in the 100 block of Harris Street. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The initial investigation indicated that the shooting took place in the roadway near Sullivan and Broad Streets, with no specific residences targeted.
Following an extensive investigation, Thomasville Police detectives have charged and arrested two juveniles, aged 16 and 17, in connection to the incident. Both individuals have been charged with the following:
- Three counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling
- Conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon
Additionally, the 17-year-old juvenile faces an additional charge of possession of a stolen firearm.
TPD detectives took the two juvenile offenders into custody where they sought secure custody orders from N.C. Juvenile Justice. The orders were granted and upon being arrested, the juveniles were transported to Alexander Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Taylorsville, NC.
Detectives are also actively searching for Adam James Wright, 20, of Asheboro, who has been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. Wright’s whereabouts are currently unknown, and law enforcement agencies are requesting the public’s assistance in locating him.
