STOLEN FIREARM ARREST // 109 RIDGESIDE CT //

On June 6, 2025, at approximately 2354 hours., MAPD officers conducted a traffic stop on a Dodge Durango in the area of Ridgeside Court after observing multiple moving/registration violations. 

During the traffic investigation, officers observed a handgun on the front seat. The driver was identified as Mr. Hakeem Tariq Shabazz. The handgun, a Walther CCP 9mm loaded with a round chambered. It was confirmed stolen out of Lenoir County, North Carolina. A 9-inch fixed-blade knife and additional ammo was also recovered from inside the vehicle.

Mr. Shabazz was arrested and transported to the Carroll County Detention Center. Charges are pending for stolen firearm possession and traffic-related offenses.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.
