Declaration: Emergency Routes
Issued by Kristy Rogers, Town Manager, January 23, 2026, 3:00pm, pursuant to Town Code Chapter 209
This declaration is to establish designated weather-related Emergency Routes within the Town of Milton to ensure safe travel, facilitate snow removal, and maintain access for emergency services during winter weather.
The Emergency Route declaration remains in effect from January 24, 2026, at 11:00pm until the town’s snow removal operations are completed.
The following streets are hereby designated as Snow Emergency Routes due to their importance for public safety, emergency access, and traffic flow: Delaware Department of Transportation routes (Atlantic Street, Federal Street, Union Street, Mulberry Street, Front Street, Route 16), both sides of Atlantic Avenue, both sides of Bay Avenue, both sides of Behringer Avenue, both sides of Chandler Street, both sides of Chestnut Street, both sides of Lavinia Street, both sides of Magnolia Street, both sides of Willow Street, north side of Broad Street, and north side of Mill Street.
During said declared emergency routes:
· Parking is prohibited on all designated Emergency Routes.
· Vehicles parked in violation will be ticketed or towed at the owner’s expense.
· Residents are hereby guided to use driveways or alternate off-street parking areas.
· Drivers must yield to snow-removal equipment and emergency vehicles.
· Obstruction of plowing operations is prohibited.
· Residents are requested to keep fire hydrants visible and accessible.
