Incident Summary

An on-duty Hudson K9 officer responded to a mutual aid request for a report of a burglary in progress at a residence located at 40 S. Grand Avenue in Ft Lupton

A Hispanic male attempted to enter the apartment using a large rock, causing significant damage to both the door and a glass window. The occupants of the apartment were able to scare the male off before officers arrived on the scene.

Hudson PD officers located a male matching the suspect's description in the area. The suspect fled on foot, prompting a short foot pursuit. After K9 warning announcements, the suspect surrendered and was detained.

The suspect was later positively identified as the individual involved in the attempted burglary and was taken into custody.
