Community Update – Fire Extinguished

The fire in the area of 206 S. Ponderosa, east of the Burger King and Chase Bank in Payson has been successfully extinguished.

🔹 It is now safe to resume normal activities.

Residents and businesses restart air circulation or HVAC systems as needed.

We appreciate the cooperation and patience of our community while first responders worked to resolve the situation safely and efficiently.

Thank you to our fire and police personnel for their quick response.

Community Safety Notice – Contained Fire

The Payson Police Department and Payson Fire Department are responding to a contained fire in the area of 206 S. Ponderosa, east of the Burger King and Chase Bank in Payson.

🔹 There is no immediate threat beyond the immediate area, however, as a precaution, residents and businesses nearby are asked to take the following steps:

• Avoid the area if possible
• Remain indoors
• Keep all windows and doors closed
• Turn off any equipment that circulates outside air (including HVAC systems, swamp coolers, and fans) It is okay to run closed system heaters and furnaces as long as outside air is not entering the residence.

First responders are on scene and will continue to monitor conditions to ensure public safety. We appreciate the community’s cooperation and patience while crews work.

Residents are encouraged to call Payson Police and Fire if they notice any smoke in their residence so the situation can be further evaluated.
