IS YOUR CHILD READY TO RIDE WITHOUT A BOOSTER?

Moving a child out of a booster seat too early can result in an adult seat belt fitting incorrectly.

A properly fitting seat belt should generally:

• Cross the upper thighs rather than the stomach.
• Fit snugly across the shoulder and chest.
• Allow the child to sit with their back against the vehicle seat.
• Allow the child’s knees to bend naturally at the edge of the seat.
• Remain properly positioned throughout the entire trip.

If the seat belt does not fit properly, the child may still need a booster seat.

When in doubt, review the recommendations for your child’s age, height, weight, and vehicle.
