Earlier today, Detectives with the Payson Police Department attempted to make contact with two subjects in the Star Valley area who were wanted in association with a previous incident.

One subject was taken into custody immediately without incident. The second subject barricaded himself inside a residence. After a short standoff, the subject surrendered and was taken into custody safely.

The Payson Police Department would like to thank all personnel involved for their professionalism and coordinated response, including the Arizona DPS GETIM Unit, the Arizona DPS SWAT Team, responding Payson Police Department Officers, and the residents of the neighborhood for their patience and cooperation during the incident.

There is no ongoing threat to the public at this time.
