On May 20, 2019, at approximately 7:20 pm, Officers from the Lancaster City Police were dispatched to the 400 block S. Christian Street for a disturbance and shooting.  Officers arrived at the scene and discovered a large crowd of people in the block.  Officers located four subjects who had minor injuries.  The injured persons were transported to the hospital by ambulance for treatment.   Investigators talked to several subjects in the neighborhood and learned that a male subject had been causing a disturbance in the street, which included breaking a fence.  This drew the attention of neighbors, including at least one neighbor tried to calm the male down.  During the disturbance, another male subject used a shotgun to fire two rounds of small pellets, which struck the victims.   The male who discharged the shotgun fled the scene on foot prior to the police arriving at the scene.  There were two adult males and two adult females who sustained either minor or superficial injuries and are expected to be released from the hospital after receiving treatment.  The one injured male was the male involved in the original disturbance and he may face charges upon his release from the hospital.

investigators are interviewing witnesses and attempting to locate video footage from the incident.

Det. Sgt. Nickel and other members of CID conducted numerous follow up investigations into this incident. As a result of those efforts, Det. Sgt. Nickel was able to identify the suspect that fired the shots on May 20, 2019. The suspect was identified as Robert Dixon M/57 400 blk. S. Christian St. Lancaster, PA. 

Sgt. Nickel filed a Criminal Complaint against Dixon charging him with (4) Counts Aggravated Assault (F2), Persons Not To Posses (etc.) Firearms (F2) and (4) Counts Recklessly Endangering Another Person. 

The complaint was filed and a warrant was issued for the arrest of Dixon. 

Dixon was arrested by Sgt. Nickel and members of Platoon D on May 30, 2019. He was processed on the complaint and held for arraignment. He was released on $10,000 bail  R.O.R.
