On Friday March 29, 2019 at approximately 1925 hrs. Officers from Lancaster Bureau of Polce, Platoon A, responded to a report of a vehicle crash. Calls to 911 reported that a driver caused a vehicle to strike several parked vehicles on the 100 blk. Church St. The driver of the striking vehicle reportedly fled the crash scene on foot.
Officers were provided information that the driver was seen running toward Pershing Ave. Officers located the suspected driver inside a residence on the 300 blk. Pershing Ave. The driver, identified as Miguel DeJesus M/34 of Lancaster, appeared to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.
DeJesus was transported to the Lancaster Bureau of Police station for processing. It was found that DeJesus had (2) prior convictions for DUI within a (10) year period which made the grading of the DUI charge an (F3). DeJesus was also charged with (4) counts of Accidents to Unattended Vehicle/Property (S) and Driving While Operating Privilege is Suspended or Revoked (S).
DeJesus was arraigned on the complaint and committed to LCP in lieu of $25,000 bail.
All persons accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
