At 0525 hrs on 15 September 2018, East Lampeter Township Police responded for a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle in the 2500 block of Siegrist Rd in East Lampeter Township.

     It was determined that a 2002 Hyundai Sonata operated by Craig Gomez of North Ronks Rd, Ronks, was traveling eastbound and struck a pedestrian along the south side of the roadway.  The pedestrian, Thelma Rineer of Siegrist Rd, Ronks, was declared deceased at the scene by the Lancaster County Coroner.

     The roadway between Lynwood and Eastbrook Rd was shut down to traffic for approximately five (5) hours as part of the initial crash reconstruction.  The investigation is ongoing.  Any witnesses are asked to contact the East Lampeter Township Police Department at ph# (717) 291-4676.
