March 19, 2018- Commonwealth v. Keith Hoffa: The Dauphin County District Attorney's Office filed an additional charge today against Keith Hoffa, 53, of Middletown. Hoffa, who was arrested last Friday, March 9, 2018, on twenty-four counts related to the sexual molestation of six victims, was today arraigned before Magisterial District Judge David H. Judy on the charge of Obstructing a Child Abuse Investigation. The Obstruction of a Child Abuse Investigation is related to Hoffa's attempt to tamper with a potential Commonwealth witness.
Hoffa's arrest last week was the result of a lengthy grand jury investigation which identified nine potential victims who claim that Hoffa molested them as children. During the course of that investigation, Detective John O'Connor of the District Attorney's Criminal Investigation Division interviewed several minors that reportedly had recent contact with Hoffa. Among the minors interviewed was a seven year old girl who related to Det. O'Connor an incident when Hoffa saw her naked in a bathtub when she was visiting his home. In the days leading up to his arrest, Hoffa learned that the police had spoken with the girl. On March 3, 2018, Hoffa showed up at the girl's home unannounced and spoke with the girl's mother. Hoffa then spoke with the girl and suggested to the seven year old that the incident she disclosed to the police was all a dream.
MDJ Judy committed Hoffa to the Dauphin County prison without bail. A preliminary hearing on the charge is currently scheduled for April 2, 2018 at 3 PM.
NOTE: The charges filed against Keith Hoffa are merely an accusation at this time. He is considered innocent unless and until he is convicted in a court of law.
