On Friday 08 September 2017 at approximately 2238 hrs. Officers Sinnott and Parr attempted to stop a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am on the 300 blk. S. Queen St. for an equipment violation. The driver, later identified as Jonathan Santiago-Rivera, refused to stop and fled from the Officers. The pursuit went east on E. Vine St. and then south on S. Christian St.
Santiago-Rivera crashed on the 400 blk. S. Christian St. and fled from the vehicle on foot. He was captured a short distance from the crash. Santiago-Rivera was found to be in possession of (7) bundles of suspected Heroin and several baggies of suspected crack cocaine.
As a result of this incident, Off. Parr filed a criminal complaint against Santiago-Rivera before MDJ Wilwerth. He was charged with 2 Counts PWID (Heroin & Crack Cocaine)(F), Fleeing and Eluding Police (M2), Red Light violation (S), Driving While Operating Privilege is Suspended or Revoked (S), Turining Movements & Required Signals (S) and Window Tint/ Glazing (S).
Santiago-Rivera was later arraigned and committed to LCP in lieu of $250,000 bail.
All persons accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
