To Whom It May Concern:
Once again, Halloween is fast approaching and the Richland Township Police Department will be conducting their safe Trick or Treat night on Thursday, October 29th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The program provides an increased police presence and an opportunity to intermingle with the children to make Trick or Treat a safe and fun event. Last year through donations, we were able to distribute 4,500 treat bags to local children. The interaction between the kids and the police made the project a success.

This is a great program for the Police Department to get involved with children at a young age. The goal of this program is to build relationships in the community and to keep the public safe.

We are now in our 26th year and are asking for your continued support. We will accept donations of commercially packaged and unopened candy or money. The candy will be inspected, packed into treat bags and passed out in Richland Township by our officers on the night of Trick or Treat. The money donated will be utilized to purchase additional candy, if needed, and items used by our officers for community related initiatives. We are asking that all donations be forwarded to the Richland Police Department by October 22, 2026.
