On 9/7/2026 at 1955 hrs police were dispatched to 207 N Union St for a structure fire.  There was also a report of a man with a gun on the roof of the adjoining property.  Upon arrival police confirmed the fire at the address and observed a male on the roof of 203 N Union St.  While police attempted to speak with the individual he ran across the roof of 203 N Union St and jumped/fell off the building landing on the sidewalk between the two buildings. Police did not locate a firearm on the individual, and after additional checks of the roofs and surrounding yards, police did not locate a firearm.  The male suffered serious injuries from the fall and is being treated at a local hospital.  

The fire was extinguished by the Middletown Borough Fire Department.  Preliminary investigation has deemed the fire to be suspicious in nature. The individual who fell from the roof is the sole occupant of 207 N Union St.
